Oil ticks higher as dollar ebbs

MarketWatch -- LOS ANGELES (MarketWatch) — Oil futures extended their slow creep higher Thursday after taking losses earlier in the week, helped by an easing dollar, though some analysts saw continued weakness ahead.

Crude oil for April delivery /quotes/zigman/2291772 CLJ3 -0.05% edged up 28 cents, or 0.3%, to $93.04 a barrel in electronic trade during the East Asian afternoon. The move added to a 13-cent gain during Wednesday’s regular New York Mercantile Exchange trade. Read: Oil logs minor gain on supply; stays below $93

London-traded Brent crude for April /quotes/zigman/2735833 UK:LCOJ3 +0.40% — which had fallen 0.8% on ICE Futures Wednesday — pared that loss by 15 cents to 0.1%, rising to $112.02 a barrel.

Our dollar is being de-valued, by the massive debt, and the non-stop printing of money by the obama administration. And what is our dear leader doing to help? He is increasing taxes on you, notice how your pay check got smaller after the first of the year? To help you out even more, he is not planning on increasing the federal tax on a gallon of gas. How much more of this can we take?

To all those griping about the U.S. devaluing the dollar, get used to it. We're in the middle of a currency war with all the other industrialized, goods exporting countries. The British pound, the Euro, the Yen, and the Chinese Yuan are all racing to the bottom, in an effort to make their country's goods seem more inexpensive and attractive.

Up $.28 is not exactly sky rocketing. Still, it would be better if it were down $.28.

With Obama at the helm our debt is increasing faster and the printing of money by Bernanke is causing the dollar to go down. The results are that the middle class is paying much more to live.

So, the first article on this web site states that domestic oil production was up 28% last year. The economy tanked in the forth quarter, which generally means less demand for oil. With the looming budget crises, the outlook for the economy is down. Everything points to a lower price for oil yet, it is skyrocketing, up $.30 in a few weeks. Couldn't be speculators causing this, could it?
