Fuel Distributor To Buy Clatskanie Ethanol Plant

ecotrope.opb.org -- Will the biorefinery in Clatskanie ever produce ethanol again? The answer is unclear as an oil and ethanol distributor, Global Partners LP, announced it is looking to buy the facility for $95 million.

The Columbia Pacific Biorefinery, owned by a subsidiary of JH Kelly of Longview, Wash., was built to produce renewable corn-based ethanol, but production has been on hold because of high corn prices and low ethanol prices. Fascinating how many members just read the headline; then give a kneejerk reaction to one word.
Those that claim to know such much, appear to be clueless in the big picture.

Take note of the location of this facility & it's use since no longer producing ethanol ....

On this on folks, it really helps to actually read the article ;0\

"...[ethanol] production has been on hold because of high corn prices and low ethanol prices."

So it goes when food is used for fuel.

Im sure not investing in something that takes more energy to make then what its worth. Will be happy when Illinois takes the 10% junk back out of our gas. The price is not cheaper nor the groceries for using all the corn. Try sugar cane guys from Cuba

Why don't they turn those ethanol plants into exporting so motors in China will be sabotaged instead of ours.
