Absolutely correct StArrow.. Here we are blessed with Loudon and Lime Rock plus great carting in Weare. The solution on convertibles is a good rollbar. All Shelbys in the 60s had them standard.

"Why do the Car companys put out the high horse power cars, ..." Why? Because people are willing to spend $ on them, supply and demand, very basic concept. Believe it or not, there are probably a few things you spend money on that others wouldn't bother with. Choice, it's pretty basic.

Why do the Car companys put out the high horse power cars, when we should be thinking better fuel ecomony.

As to "I mean, where can you utilize it!!!! " All you need is any local road race circuit, here we have Sears Point (Infineon) and Laguna Seca, with two SCCA tracks, Thunderhill at Willows and Buttonwillow a couple hours further away. Then there are both Reno-Fernley and Spring Mountain outside Las Vegas in Pahrump. The bad news is you will probably have to get the hard top, convertibles expose the head a bit. At least the Mustang kept the weight unter 4000lbs at around 3850 while the ZL-1 Camaro is up around 4150. Of course the Stock Vette is around 3300 lbs so it has quite a performance advantage.

I bet the ROARing sound that thing makes will literally fracture your bones... Combine that with the whistle of gasoline getting sucked into one end and out yet in reality, there is no need for that kind of power; I mean, where can you utilize it!!!!

This article didn't mention it but the hardtop version will do 200 mph for about $55,000. That makes it the cheapest car to hit this milestone - ever. I wonder how much insurance will cost? Never mind, I'm only dreaming.

Yawn. Totally unimpressive. Still limited to 65mph on the highway. Give me a dual turbo-jet engine and I'll be impressed.

Ford Mustang was introduced in the early 60's. How many people remember the scene in the James Bond movie Goldfinger where Sean Connery driving his silver grey Aston Martin extended his hub cap spokes and tore the tires off of the Mustang convertible?

Shelby is a man's man. He built the most iconic car of the last century and it is still a fantastic design style today. American innovation and grit at it's best. Great car. Great man.

Awesome car with awesome power but no place to use all that power. I would prefer a hard top as I am not much for a convertable. Still, would be nice to rent one for a day.
