National average declines as Thanksgiving approaches, still will set new record

GasBuddy Blog -- The national average for a gallon of regular self-serve gasoline has declined nicely the last month or so, and could fall to $3.40/gal by Thanksgiving Day. The part that is tough to chew isn't the turkey that many Americans will be eating, rather the fact that the national average hasn't ever been higher on Thanksgiving than where it will likely be this year- around $3.43/gal.

The national average stood at $3.34/gal last Thanksgiving Day, and could be 10c/gal higher than that this year. It's something that may surprise many Americans, given that gasoline prices have edged lower in previous weeks.

California, for example, has seen a whopping 77c/gal drop in just the last four weeks. That is among the largest, fastest declines...

Cheapest gasoline in CA: Turlock (I call it "Turd Lock", because most people who live there are anally retentive.) $3.29/gal. Reason? Proximity to the big Richmond and Martinez refineries. Another pocket of cheap gas: Lodi...another garden spot no one wants to live in.

About that time of year again,
when too many amateurs want to
play in traffic.

With the potential for multitudes of impaired drivers
to be out on the highways, hopefully
more will take advatage of using other means
of transportation, besides 4 wheeled vehicles.

Stay safe, & Happy Thangsgiving.

Endoman5000 - "In Michigan we went up 20c today! WT...?"

Must be the unions. </sar>

I saw one station here go up 12¢, but it was probably a mispost, because other stations were going down another ¢.
