Handful of states pulls national average higher single-handedly by 3c/gal

GasBuddy Blog -- If you live under a rock and somehow are reading this blog, you may not be aware that problems with refineries and pipelines in Illinois and Wisconsin are making a great impact on gasoline prices in that region. States affected include Illinois, Wisconsin, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, and Kentucky. So far today, average prices are up 7.7c/gal in Illinois, 8.2c/gal in Michigan, 7.4c/gal in Indiana, 5.3c/gal in Wisconsin, 7.0c/gal in Ohio, and up 2.3c/gal in Kentucky. Keep in mind these averages will continue to rise as prices at the pump continue rising at more stations as the day wears on.

The increase in these states is so massive, it has pulled up the national average by almost 3c/gal at this moment today. Without the above mentioned...

We have a major Chevron refinery less than 20 miles from us, and pay more for Chevron gas than those who live farther away. I don't get it???

Got refineries nearby but we are always nearly highest in the nation due to Washington state gas taxes. Time to move!

These are some steep price increases, with no real reason as to why they are jumping like this.

His friends who sill have their gas priced at 44.29.9 should join him!!Shell ,Marathon and Valero should also be jailed!!

The price at the pump needs to go down to $2/gallon, $3 to $3.50/gallon is Not the new low! Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very safe, reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost. The price of fuel at the pump is too high! 12/22/2012
