I flew for 25 years both active and reserve duty. Stationed at Travis and Dover when I retired. Did you work at Tinker? I had a few missions there we stopped and picked up or left cargo. I remember a mission from DOV-TNK-Eilson & Elmindorf. We picked up some reservists and flew them to Alsaka. I think it was for their annual tour. When I was in Germany, I looked at Marklin 1 guage as they offered a few "live steam" engines but they didn't sell them in USA as Americans are litigation happy if some child burns his hand touching the engine. I said that would be "parental control", LOL When I was at Travis, there was a Col. who was into "live steam", I don't remember if it was the 7.5 or 5.0 guage, but he build a SP AC-12 cab foward and had the tracks in his pickup. On side was the engine and the tender next to it.
He would take it toTilden Park which is in the hills East of Berkley to run it.
