Are you willing to Praise the name of Jesus no matter what your sickness or problem is?
Turn it all back to praise! No matter how bad it seems the Lord knows about it. Oh my heart can sing when I return praise to Him.

There is a wonderful book out called 'Count It All Joy', I have read it and it is a really good book.

Through the good and bad times, pain and suffering we can count it all joy and turn it back to praise.
God sent His son to die on the cross for our transgressions, sins and mistakes. There is no pain or suffering that we could ever go through that would even begin to compare with Christ's suffering.

At some of my very worst times I have sung 'Holy Ground' or 'Holy'. They are songs that help bring my heart back to a praise worthy mood.

What are you counting as joy?

What are you suffering through for Christ?

Are you turning it back to praise?

2 " Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, 3for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. 4And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing." James 1:2-4

I put this verse down before but I find it a hard verse to take....when it says, we should count it ALL JOY, when we have trials, as it is going to make me steadfast.....perfect....complete....lacking in nothing. There are times I would like to say.....maybe I do not want to be quite this steadfast..hahahha It seems hard when you are in a trial to see that if we count it joy that we will be more holy at the other end of the trial.

Taco Maria I am glad you are home!

I am heavy on the joy today because we got the official tour at the gym. I will not tell you what my weight loss is to be yet. That will come later.
I missed the last two weeks working out, so I feel like I am starting over. But since I did the week at Curves, like 3 weeks ago, I did lose ***. Not going to tell that either. But it was enough for me to know that I can do it.

Tri it is always rough going back after being off for that long. We go to Miami in 3 weeks, I am so excited. I will probably lose my consecutive days then, my friend does not have internet at her townhouse. No biggie though. It is not all that important to me. I post now because I can.

Special prayer request goes out to someone on GB who is having a hard time at home. Please know that you are thought of daily and that someone cares very much and is concerned about your welfare.

Psalm 68:3 - But let the godly rejoice. Let them be glad in God’s presence. Let them be filled with joy.

Let the godly rejoice!!!!! That is all believers in Jesus Christ!
Me and you are the godly! Rejoice in the Lord!

Your words were found, and I ate them,
and your words became to me a joy
and the delight of my heart,
for I am called by your name,
O Lord, God of hosts.
—Jeremiah 15:16

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I absolutely love this verse...because if I make the Word of God my diet, he promises his words will become *joy* to me. Also, I am called by God's name.... How could God honor me so?? It astounds me....
When things are going bad and people appear to be "getting away with" evil things, I always remember that we have a hope, a glorious home waiting for us.
How can I not count if for joy? This world is not my forever home.
I lost a job because I would not lie on my minutes and say I treated more than I did. I've been basically blackballed because of it.
There have and are many struggles trying to make ends meet in the last 10 years, but God always seems to provide what I NEED...not what I want.
So true that we are to count it all joy. We can always find something to complain about, but too, we can always find something to praise about! Job had every reason to complain, but he found no cause to do so.
That is one of my many favorites GMan. Thank you for posting the words. Sometimes it is hard to sing if things are not as I think they should be.
It takes real faith to see beyond ones hurt and pain and count it all joy with Christ.
Great topic, Mama!!
Through it all, we know that our Redeemer lives!
In the late 1800's, a Christian lawyer and investor named Horatio Gates Spafford lost his life savings in a Chicago fire. (A year earlier he lost his only son.) A couple of years after the fire, he took his wife and four daughters a boat trip to England to help an American evangelist named Dwight Moody. But business prevented Horatio from leaving with his family so he booked a ship that was leaving two days later for England.
The ship carrying his family was struck by another vessel and sank. His wife was the lone survivor in the family, all four girls perished, and she sent him a telegraph that said, "Saved Alone"
Horatio penned a timeless hymnal with the words "When sorrows like sea billows roll..." of which I think every Christian is familiar with...
It Is Well With My Soul
Written By: Horatio Gates Spafford & Philip Paul Bliss
Copyright: ©Public Domain
Verse 1:
When peace like a river attendeth my way,
When sorrows like sea-billows roll;
Whatever my lot, thou hast taught me to say
"It is well, it is well with my soul."
Verse 2:
Though the devil will ruin, though trials may come,
Let this blest assurance control.
That Christ has regarded my helpless estate,
And hath shed His own blood for my soul.
Chorus:
It is well (it is well)
with my soul (with my soul)
It is well, it is well, with my soul
Verse 3:
My sin, O the bliss of this glorious thought,
My sin, not in part, but the whole, (All in)
Is nailed to the cross and I bear it no more,
Praise the Lord, Praise the Lord, O my soul.
Chorus: (2X)
Verse 4:
And Lord haste the day when my faith shall be sight!
And the clouds be rolled back as a scroll!
The trump shall resound and the Lord shall descend!
Even so, it is well with my soul!
Hebrews 12:4 (Amplified Bible)
4"You have not yet struggled and fought agonizingly against sin, nor have you yet resisted and withstood to the point of pouring out your [own] blood."
Hebrews 12:4 (English Standard Version)
"In your struggle against sin you have not yet resisted to the point of shedding your blood."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~

There is nothing that I will suffer that will come even remotely close to the suffering that Christ did on the cross, as the weight of the world's sin hung on Him.

That alone reminds me that I am not in this alone....I am with Christ...and my suffering is not by myself, and He is my strength and my Joy.
