In an article posted in the MSN Autos, Hummer H3 and H3T were listed in the top 10 gas guzzlers for 2009. The source the article used was the US Environmental Protection Agency. All 10 show a combined gas mileage of 14 mpg with a variety of city and highway mpg. Of those 10 the Hummer showed the worse for highway driving with only 16 mpg. It did rank in the top 2 of this list for city driving though with a wopping 13 mpg. Will the US consumer be wise and stay clear of these gas guzzlers with what happened this last summer to gas prices or will they all too soon forget?

The original Hummer was an @$$kicker. The H2 and -3 are warmed over Chevrolets, literally. You'd be better off getting the vehicles they're based on.

1935 mile trip to Detroit for the Woodward Dream Cruise and cruise Woodward Ave. 3 day and still averaged 17.4 MPG. Drive 70-75 highway.
Not to Bad for a Hummer...

I've got an H3 and have not upgraded anything. I get about 16 mpg around town and almost 20 (19.863) mpg on a couple of long interstate trips.

Got a '07 H3, added cold are induction, Magaflow (Cat-back) exhaust, and got 18-20 on the highway. 13-15 in town! As good as my trade in, '05 SRX Cadillac!

GM should do what you did as a package, or just make that standard on Hummers. People can't complain about a 6500 pound beast that gets 16mpg!

My uncle had a '03 H2 Hummer and got 10-12MPG when driving good. 5MPG when florring it.
My neighbor has a '02 H1 HUmmer with a Deisel and he is getting about 7-8 MPG when driving. 0-60 is 17sec. on it so he is florring it all the time.
