Actually I think Mark Martin will 'miss' the chase this year. Not because he is driving bad, but because of his falling out with Roush. I think he will allow Kasey Kahne to get in but only barely.

Gee Indy, isn't there a NASCAR rule saying you can't clone yourself to have a crew chief? That should be good for 500 - 1000 points. LOL

I'm no Johnson fan, but he's had a tremendous year.
WHAT would be the reasoning for taking 500 points away from him or anyone else?

If they took the appropriate number of points (500) from Johnson, he wouldn't make the chase.

I would like to see Kasy Kahne jump from 11th to make the chase

The maximum point swing in one race is 156 points -- 190 for winning and leading the most laps, 34 for last place. So at this point, there are still a lot of possibilities, but the probabilities are rapidly diminishing . . .

From Kyle Busch in 4th place to Kasey Kahne in 11th is 138 points apart right now. My pick still can go out to 11th with 2 bad runnings and points can shift over the 2 races also.

I think Jr. may possibly miss it again this year.

Well I will say, I hope Burton and Hamlin are there, who cares about the other three. Gee is it too late for Johnson to get knocked out of the chase?

Indy buddy, I hope you have not stuck your foot in your mouth, Jr. is starting 40th. It's looking better for Kane, being only 50 points behind Jr. One mid pack crash in the first few laps, could make it a very short night for Dale. But Kane is only five rows in front of Jr. He may be the crash that takes Dale out.

I'll say Jr. struggles at California, Kahne wins...and Jr. misses the Chase again.

phil, but since you're asking now and not after tomorrow's race, I'll go out on a limb and say that I think ALL of them will make it. Kasey will finish 11th as he is now.

I suspect the answer will be more more clear after Bristol tomorrow night.
