Pull up a chair, snap your fingers, "double latte" and lets hear whats on your mind. Gripes, comments, compliments, complaints, ideas? Lets get them out in the open and see if we can relate, have some fun, come to conclusions maybe, who knows.

Good Morning,

So far so good on my brackets (or what is left of them).

That is why I may consider a CPA, but most of my info from the brokerage firm is downloaded by Turbo Tax. The issue was some kind of foreign tax credit. Also, this year was my first on Social Security and had a lump sum from 2013 and that led to some confusion. Also, the minor league team I worked for went bankrupt and I had no documentation from them. In short, I would favor a flat tax.

Should be a nice Saturday, but will be inside at church withe the musicians rehearsing for tomorrow's Easter Musical.

CG - I picked the Badgers to win it all also. However, after watching Kentucky destroy W Virginia last night, I'm not so sure.

Handi - we are cold enough to get snow, but luckily, did not.

soutxed - I used to use Turbotax but 7 years ago, I made a pretty serious data entry mistake which would have resulted in a HUGE tax bill to both the Feds and the state of Minnesota. In a panic, I found a CPA (around April 5th) who reluctantly took me in. He identified my error and we ended up with a refund! As a result, I have been going to the CPA ever since.

Good Morning,

Cold front came through and lowered temps back into the 50's. Also brought more rain.

CG, I use Turbotax and it says it thinks of all possibilities. I may try a CPA for one year and see what happens.

My east bracket is shot, but everyone I still have won last night. Kentucky is my final pick.

Everyone enjoy the day.

Good morning everybuddy! 19°F for the morning commute.

Splinter, we watched the end of that game. Pretty close. I think I am doing fine in my brackets. Nobody left in the South or East, but 2 in the West, (and I picked WI to win it all) and I have Kentucky left in the Midwest...

sout, having a CPA do the taxes also might get you more refunds, since they could/should know more about taxes than the normal person, but, that is not always a given. And, the audit is a nice relief

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

Good Morning,

The Mrs. ask why we don't take the tax to a CPA. Not sure I want to spend $200+ to get a low refund or owe money. But it may be worth it to avoid an investigation by the IRS. Was audited many years ago, but it was due to an employer not reporting taxes correctly so everyone who worked there was checked. One issue was they reported reimbursements as income. The accountant for that place (a non-profit private school) as fired. I think he should have been prosecuted. But that is ancient history.Everyone have a good day.

Good morning Handi, and everybuddy else coming in today. 30°F for the morning commute. Thinking about taking the entire trip home, about 30 miles.

MrGG, I think goofing off with puppies will be acceptable! Koa had 4 or 5 siblings in his batch, and I am very sure they have all been adopted.

CGrover
How about goofing off with puppies?
I did see a live report from the Humane Society with tiny puppies that were available for adoption.
After seeing that report I would bet there was an opening time line at the door to take those puppies home.

Good morning Splinter, sout, Handi, and everybuddy else coming in today. Saw/met the surgeon yesterday. April 7 will be the day of surgery. Around 5 days in the hospital, and then about 3 more weeks recovering at home. No driving for a month, no lifting anything over 10 pounds for about 3 months, no biking for a few months. Waiting until later to verify that last one. 32°F for the morning commute on wet, slushy, snowy streets. About an inch and a half of snow in the yard from last night.

sout, that sounds perfect. It is nice to get a big refund, but being as close to $0.00 is the most cost effective option. We had our taxes completed a few weeks ago, and owe one and get a bit more back from the other.

Handi, bummer.

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

"Near Miss Day" ... commemorates the day a huge Asteroid nearly missed hitting the earth, whew.

I missed coming in yesterday, maybe because it was "National Goof Off Day".

I hope abfpat is OK but congrats to Splinter.

Joes Bar-B-Que in Kansas City is well worth a visit and look for burnt ends if you are there on a day when they're served.

Good Morning,

Snow this time of year? The Mrs. and I spend yesterday cutting some grass that had grown too tall from all the rain. Well I wish you well dealing with the bad weather. We have another front coming this weekend.

Spring break has come and gone. The college students are back in class. Unfortunately , we heard of three deaths this week, two falling off balconies and another student found dead in his room. Our granddaughter who spend part of her college spring break at South Padre Island found it somewhat boring. Maybe she won't go back next year.

Coffee and breakfast tacos please.

Good morning Handi, and everybuddy else coming in today. We received about 4 inches of snow. Little Koa was not scared of the snow, but walked very slowly in it. WE won't shovel, it will be gone probably by this evening.

MrGG, thank you for the info. I haven't been in Kansas City since a high school band trip...

sout, great to hear about your BBQ!

MA, great song!!

Splinter, mine too. All Texas teams are out, and too many double digit seeds that I did not pick won.

Our BBQ was excellent, we were under cover and the weather was just perfect, no rain and in the 70's. best part, wife won $30.

"Extraterrestrial Abductions Day" well I guess this is another holiday I will avoid.

"Extraterrestrial Abductions Day" ... where have you been ?

CGrover
Years ago I had read about "Chicken Hiway" in Kansas and about 5-6 years ago had a chance to be in the area so we had dinner at Chicken Annie's and loved the whole experience.
Tonight we will again be there before we pick up some ribs in Kansas City on the way home.
There are so may hits when googling and we have seen TV reports on this also.
Just one: Pittsburg KS Chicken

Coffee to go please, Bunny.

Splinter, I have the appt with the surgeon on Tuesday. I am thinking that is when surgery will be scheduled, and we will hear his thoughts on mechanical vs pig.

March madness begins today. Bracket completed and will probably be broken badly before the sun sets today.

Looks like a nice day weather wise. Invited to a big BBQ tonight so hope it holds up. If it is Chicken Day, maybe they will have BBQ chicken.

Good afternoon everybuddy. My TEE and coronary angiogram tests went well yesterday. They didn't find any other complications so heart valve replacement should be no problem. They did find some plaque, and have put me on Lipitor... I am doing fine today. the area where they went in is a little tender, but we are watching it to make sure no issues arise. No biking or lifting over 10 pounds until Saturday.

MA, that is a funny elephant!

Splinter, sounds like a good trip to Madison!

MrGG, a few of my pepper seeds have sprouted!

sout, wow, congratulations!!
