Pull up a chair, snap your fingers, "double latte" and lets hear whats on your mind. Gripes, comments, compliments, complaints, ideas? Lets get them out in the open and see if we can relate, have some fun, come to conclusions maybe, who knows.

Good Morning

CG, while I was getting internet from phone company, there was static on the line. We are suppose to get fiber optic, but that schedule keeps getting pushed back. The poor techs did their best to make the 40 year old cable work, but I got tired of calling them once a month or more.

Splinter, great country there. Look forward to returning to Big Sur.

I take of of those fish tacos also. Have a good day everyone

Good Morning Folks !

"National Lasagna Day" ... it's been too long, time to make some soon.

Splinter
Thanks for bringing back some great memories.

Our granddaughter is one year old today and making us proud as are her parents, what a joy!

I did finally sear some peaches but in a pan as I wasn't grilling and the peaches were ripe.
Added a splash of balsamic vinegar for an added taste.
Worth a try if you like peaches.

A blueberry avocado smoothie please, Bunny.

CG - we were primarily in Lake Tahoe but had side trips to visit one of our daughters working at Stanford University for the summer and a day trip to Big Sur. The drive from Big Sur to Stanford to Lake Tahoe took about 7 hours, but it was worth it!

Good morning everybuddy! We had a great weekend. Went up north, and Saturday MrsCG and I brought our off road bikes to WI and road 112 miles. MrsCG enjoyed it, but wants to ride a lot more, to prepare for our trip in August. I rode on Sunday back at home, 12 miles, at a trail I have only been to once.

Handi, hope everything is ok after the storm.

sout, sorry for your issues. Hopefully today they are resolved. That seems to happen a lot, blaming another company...

Splinter, vacation? I must have missed it. Where have you been? I think I noticed your posting times were not the normal midnight-ish times tho... Sounds like a great day back. Splinter, sounds like a bunch of fun people to follow.

MrGG, oh o, missed yesterday's day...

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

Thanks golfer! We went to Lake Tahoe. Got to watch the celebrity golf tourney out there. Followed the threesome of Aaron Rogers, John Elway and Tim Brown most of the day on Sunday. Also watched Jerry Rice and Marshall Faulk's group. Saw Charles Barkley just as we were leaving.

Good Morning,
Cable company came yesterday to install internet, but said we had electrical problems and they left. Power company comes and said there are no problems and the cable tech doesn't know what he is talking about. Cable company returns tomorrow. Another day with no internet at home. Using Casbuddy Corner cafe wi-fi.

Another hot day.

Wish i could go see the those eagles.

Everyone have a great day.

Good morning and happy Friday everybuddy! Thunder, lightning, wind, and rain this am. The rain got a little lighter, so I still rode the bike to the bus. I have a helmet cover, and a pannier cover, and fenders, so I was dry in a few spots. Good rain coats for biking are very spendy, but maybe someday I will get a nice on.

MrGG, did you know yesterday was National Tequilla Day? For some reason, I am not surprised your guests liked your food.

wmsb, I remember that also, way back when, about mice getting cancer from saccharin. I think it was about 600 cans a pop a day...

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

Nice temps but it rained all day.

CGRO, I guess it depends on how frequent you use the artificial sweeteners. I remember when they said that Saccharin could cause cancer. But it had to be used in such massive doses to even have a chance to do so.

BGJam, we still have several adult and baby eagles near the lake this year. Haven't seen much hunting from them though, only flying and sitting in trees.

Handi, don't work too hard.

MRGG, heard that the present, young, Amelia Earhart recently completed her trip around the world.

Good Evening Folks !

"Amelia Earhart Day" ... celebrates the birth of Amelia Earhart on July 24, 1897.
The disappearance of Amelia Earhart's plane on July 2, 1937, resulted in the largest search and rescue operation to date. To this day, theories and speculation still exists about the cause of the disappearance. Some theories involve conspiracies, and even alien abductions.

BG, sounds like a great movie.

Handi, enjoy the projects!!! I don't really 'use' sugar. Back when I ate grapefruit, I didn't even add sugar to them. I will eat things with sugar, like cake or cookies, but in moderation... Just like I don't add salt to anything, but I ain't salt free.

Good Morning Folks

Handi, the baby eagles are the same size as the adults and are flying and learning to hunt and fish. The adults are out and about with them and talking to them (and scolding) constantly. Like most kids these baby eagles are testing the limits. Fascinating to watch them!

I've gotta take a couple of weeks break from the river cruising as I'll be doing some travelling and attending and working a bluegrass festival. The river cruises these last couple of weeks have been wonderful and I'm sure looking forward to resuming them when I can.

Sid --- who's the explorer?

CG --- I don't use sugar at all, but that's only because of my struggle with my weight, it's been a life long struggle

Good Morning,

At 7 PM last night we were at 97 degrees and a heat index 107. Game went on.

Golfer, high school football starts soon, lots of water breaks and some coaches practice under the lights.

McDonald's breakfast and free WiFi until the cable company comes to hook me up.

Big Macs for everyone.

Good morning everybuddy! 57°F for the morning commute. Good group ride last night, after 2 riders dropped due to mechanicals within 2 miles, left us with 6. Two newbies to the trail had a good time, and no injuries. MrsCG asked if we could ride tonite, so that will be good. Plans on bringing the off road bikes north, and driving an hour on Sat to awesome trails in WI!

Sid, hopefully not prickely bushes!

wmsb, that is warm! Oh, yes, I have seen many studies about how bad artificial sweeteners are. I can understand that. But, being diabetic, I have been using them for 40 some years now. I don't use much fake sugar to add to things, like cereal or things, but diet soda and sugar free syrup, I still use. Many other reduced sugar or sugar free products usually have more carbs in it, and that doesn't do me any good.

That was good they gave you salt tablets.

Have a GREAT day everybuddy!

At 6pm the heat index was 107.

CGRO, some say natural sugars are ok and others say no. Guess the jury is still out on that. Some have said artificial sweeteners cause problems too.

soutxed, I remember starting our high school football practices in August and it was rare when we didn't practice despite how hot it got. They even gave us salt tablets then.

Phew, made it. Good morning Sid, sout, BG, Handi, and everybuddy else coming in today. Almost felt cool this morning being only 60°f for the morning commute. Looks like a perfect afternoon/evening for a group, off road, dirt ride.

MrGG, peach grilling day? I should check my garden also...

BG, yes, it would be cooler above the water.

wmsb, I often hear people talking about sugars, and how bad they are, and then learning they are talking about natural sugars. I never knew natural sugars were bad. People saying, Oh, apples have so much sugar. Interesting I think.

exploder?

Good Morning Folks

Yup, y'all, I've been out cruisin' the river these last couple of days and it was glorious!!!! Even tho the temps were high and so was the humidity, the breeze was wonderful (and cooling) and the temps right at water level always seem to be cooler. The baby eagles are out flying and the adults are teaching them to hunt and fish. We're seeing more Herons and Egrets than usual and the pleasure boaters are still fewer in number. The excursion boats are running fast and furious and the local barge traffic seems to be up. The new Layfayette bridge is in place and it appears that they're gonna put up another span. So, things are exciting on the river!!!!!! Oh, yeah, the water levels are only about a foot above normal pool and the current is really light. Now we have to worry about the throat of our harbors silting in. I really don't wanna drag my outdrive in the bottom silt.

Biscuits and Gravy, on the patio, please, Bunny

Good Morning,

Golfer, we will play as by the time the sun starts to set, the index goes down.

Splinter, we have extreme hot weather. But in the winter, we get people from up north who stay here for a few months. A good friend of mine spends June to August in Minnesota and Ohio were he and wife have family.

We just do more indoor activities this time of year.

Coffee by the pool.

golfer - I didn't get to watch any of the British Open but by the score, it looks like Rory killed it. How about the ageless Tom Watson?! He loves The Open!

According to weather.com, the current dew point is 73F. UGH.

BG - how was the river cruise?

soutxed - your summers are like our winters (extreme weather)

Kulas - sorry for your losses.

BGJam, supposed to be in the nineties Wednesday and Thursday then back to the mid to upper eighties for the rest of the week.

CGRO, last year at this time, we had triple heat indexes between 110 and 115. Weatherman said this is usually the hottest time of the year for us.

soutxed, will they still play with heat indexes that high?

MRGG, Read or heard that males daily intake of sugars should no more than 25g's. Drink one regular soda and that's out the window! Women's is around 23g's. Said natural sugars are ok.

I am letting a couple peaches ripen a bit more before grilling them which I may do on Wednesday.

This warm humid weather is good for tomatoes.
